Dr. Khalid Zaheer

Dr. Khalid Zaheer is an Islamic scholar and an academic with a Ph.D. from the University of Wales. Dr. Zaheer had an intensive formal religious education in Islam from Dr. Israr Ahmed, Mawlana Amin Ahsan Islahi, and Javed Ahmed Ghamidi. Dr. Zaheer has a deep and incisive understanding of the very relevant issue of Islam and modernity, and has taught courses on various topics including Islamic ethics, tradition, and economics at various prestigious institutions, including the Aga Khan University, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), University of Central Punjab, and Hailey College of Commerce.

Dr. Javad Hashmi

Dr. Javad T. Hashmi is a board-certified emergency physician, Fmr. Fellow of Medical Ethics at Harvard Medical School, and a Ph.D. candidate in the Study of Religion (Islamic Studies) at Harvard University. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Hashmi holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Arabic & Islamic Studies from U.C. Berkeley and Harvard respectively. His research interests include Islamic intellectual history, Quranic studies, Islamic modernism, religion and politics, religion and science, and the ethics of war and peace in Islam.
