Introduction

Welcome to our school policy page. Here, you will find information about our policies and procedures, as well as resources and guidance to help you understand and comply with these policies. Our policies are designed to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students, as well as the safety and security of our school community.

Program Objectives

GCIL comprehensive online Sunday School program is specifically designed to instill positive character traits in our students, based on core Islamic values in the light of the Quran and Sunnah. We aim to cultivate critical thinking in our students and teach them how to objectively explore and understand religion, to confidently become religious and community leaders of tomorrow.

All of our levels are taught interactively with an emphasis on discussions and activities that allow our students to explore and understand religion at a much deeper level than traditional classroom training.

Tools Used for Teaching

Classes are conducted via Zoom and Google Classroom platform is used for the distribution of course material.

Teachers also sometimes use Kahoot!, youtube videos, slides, and various other interactive methods for a didactically designed lesson plan that makes it easy for students to learn the material.

  6. Islam – Faith and Moral Guidance

  8. Islam and the Contemporary Issues

Age Policy

The school is organized into three phases based on age, with each phase comprising of 9 levels of learning designed to be progressively challenging.

Beginner Level: Islamic Foundation and Concepts

    • Level 1: Age 9-10
    • Level 2: Age 10-11
    • Level 3: Age 11-12

Intermediate Level: Exploring the Quran

    • Level 4: Age 12-13
    • Level 5: Age 13-14
    • Level 6: Age 14-15

Advanced Level: Islam in the Contemporary World

 

    • Level 7: Age 15-16
    • Level 8: Age 16-17
    • Level 9: Age 17-18

School Days and Hours

GCIL Sunday School program classes are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM CST to 2 PM CST.

Contacting Teachers / Administration for Feedback

  • To communicate with teachers, parents must fill out the Contact Form available on GCIL Sunday School website. The School administration will schedule an appointment between the parent and teacher.
  • Parent teacher communication is strictly not allowed during class hours as it disrupts the flow of the lesson.
